Marksmanship Advisory Council
Region Matches
(MACs)

Marksmanship Advisory Council (MAC) region matches are competitive programs used to facilitate marksmanship training at the regional level.

The match is composed of the states that fall within the MAC region.

The hosting state rotates within the region from year to year. With assistance from NGMTC, that state’s State Marksmanship Coordinator (SMC) is responsible for planning the match.

NGMTC typically funds one to two teams made up of Army and Air National Guard or a combination of the two.

How to compete

To participate in the MAC, a shooter needs to have shot well at their state match. This lets the State Marksmanship Coordinator (SMC) put together the best team to represent the state at the MAC. MAC teams are composed of 50% new and old shooters.

A new shooter is someone who has never competed at that level of a match or higher. If you are interested in shooting, contact your SMC for the dates of your state match.
